21 in 2021, 0/9 đź“Ť

I’m not into making New Year’s resolutions really, because I’m not the type of person that responds well to goal setting. Instead, I respond to getting tired of something, so I change it.

Last week I saw that some YouTubers made “21 in 2021” videos. I didn’t watch any, but I was inspired by the title. I’m sure that it’s just a list of 21 resolutions, or like mine – a list of tasks that I put off all of 2020, so I should actually really do them.

21 in 2021 - a year's worth of half-baked goals. Written and completed in real time. First things first; the incomplete beginning! #21in21 #21in2021 #NewYear

Just for fun I want to share my 21 in 2021 progress via scans from my RocketBook. The exact page will change because the pages stay cleaner longer with a full water wipe every month or so (especially when using dark ink). For the un-initiated, RocketBooks are reusable journals that use reusable paper and a clever scanning technology. If you use the right pens on the right papers, all ink is easy to wipe off. These journals have drastically reduced the paper waste in the few months that I have been using them – yay!

  • My daily Rocketbook is 8.5″ x 11″ (on Amazon) I love it!

This post is the first in a series – my aim is to declare and complete 21 tasks in 2021. I know that I would be finished by February if each task was “make dinner” or something that I always do. So instead my 21 tasks are things that I have avoided all of last calendar year.

Maybe my loose resolution is to be more minimalist?

After looking at my list I see that they are all about letting go of material goods. That’s a theme that I can get behind! The Jupiter House isn’t moving for a few more years, but I know that we’ve gained many more household pounds than we had when we moved last (for you non-military readers, I can clarify. When the government moves a family it is customary to weigh the household contents. This is done by an evaluation by a moving company, then weight receipts from your car (empty, and full), and moving truck. Our household, for example two adults one child, two dogs – weighs approx 8,000 lbs and takes 1-2 days to pack depending on the size of the packing crew).

I haven’t even finished my list yet…but on this first day of a new year, I still want to share it because I’m that kind of lady. Also I’m a recovering perfectionist, so showing you something that is incomplete is good. Why? Because I still need to show my brain that I can show you something imperfect from me, and that it’s okay. The house will not burst into flames, we will retain our health, and you won’t think any less of me for showing you something that hasn’t been completed, edited ten times, and polished to the nth degree. Overcoming perfectionist tendencies is tough stuff y’all.

So with that in mind, here’s today’s 21 in 2021 list. This list is incomplete, but I like where it’s going.
