If you’ve been reading LadyJupiter.com lately, you know that PCS season is upon us. We are expected OCONUS soon, and we’re letting our stuff (HHG; house hold goods) get a head start.
PCSing families & individuals started AirTagging their HHG as soon as AirTags were readily available – and I get it. I had a few Tiles in the past, but I agree that AirTags are so much more accurate. This accuracy matters when my closet will be crossing an ocean without me.
So that’s where my habit of over sharing comes in. Two of our crates are AirTagged, the remainder are not. While I would love checking on them every hour, I have decided instead to check on our HHG just once each morning.
When the location is different I take a screen capture, note the day, and move on with my life.
These notations are what I want to share with you.

I intend on updating this post each week that I have updates.
Just for fun, I thought that you might like to scroll through my silly updates on Saturday mornings…so I made Saturday Updates; a new category on LadyJupiter.com that’s full of the things that I try to update. You can easily bookmark the Saturday Update page and see those updates any time you choose. Yay!
Q. Why is your closet crossing an ocean without you?
A. Because we’re a military family. We are moving to another country for a few years, so we’re taking most of our stuff with us. Things like the couch and our dishes are crated, placed in containers, and shipped. Transpacific shipping takes weeks. Mister Jupiter and I agreed to pack up our stuff as soon as possible so it can get a head start.
My hypothesis is that it’s easier to live out your suitcase in a familiar country. Ideally, our stuff will arrive a few days after we land, so we may be dealing with jet lag while assembling the kitchen. Chaotic? Yes. But worth it to have my coffee mugs and bath towels as soon as we get our new keys? ABSOLUTELY.
